The First Essay
I started taking notes when I was 7 years old. My aunt bought me a so called “Memories notebook” in my native language, which is a diary. The design was so beautiful that I decided to write in it only when my entries were exciting and worth writing, and to have more diaries I had to make my life more exciting. That was the first time in my life that I understood that every time you bring (or even you just want to bring) a thought to life, it affects your life forever.
27 years later (now I’m 34), after years of tinkering with different note books and systems and digital notebooks (Notion, obsidian, evernote and etc) I decided to share my thoughts in a digital and online system, share them with anyone (yes, I feel an urge for it), and back them up on GitHub, which has copies of my information on 3 different continents (yeah, I know it is not a backup and I know they do it for some other reasons, but anyway). This way, I can somehow be sure they will probably save my thoughts forever.
About my digital notebook (Website) you can play around and find out. I just want to explain that essays will probably be long, and they will be about timeless concepts that I have been involved with for a long time, or will be in the future. In some cases, they will grow into a series of thoughts. Notes, on the other hand, are not timeless; they are written according to what happens at a specific time—for example, about a technology that I’m writing about, or an experience. (At the moment, there is no Notes section on the website, but there will be in the future.)
Should you do this too?
Anyone should share their thoughts, manifest their visions, and let others hear about them.
You are a human; you’ve been made to bring ideas to life.
The main reason for writing and sharing this essay is to start the website.
